Another comic book movie is one the way. Paramount has bought the rights to The Killer, a graphic novel by Alexis Nolent aka Matz, illustrated by Luc Jacamon. Se7en and Zodiac director David Fincher is set to take the helm, with Alexandra Milchan and Brad Pitt’s Plan B producing. Alessandro Camon, who exec produced Fur and Jason Reitman’s Thank You for Smoking and wrote the script for Italian movie K il bandito (The Bandit K), will adapt the graphic novel for the big screen. He is also currently adapting Robert Ludlum’s The Chancellor Manuscript for Paramount.
This will be the fourth time that David Fincher and Brad Pitt are credited alongside each other. They previously worked together on the 1995 classic detective film Se7en, 1999 cult flick Fight Club and, most recently, on the Francis Scott Fitzgerald adaptation The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, co-starring Tilda Swinton and Cate Blanchett, which is set to be released in November 2008.
The Killer, originally published in France in 1988, deals with an assassin who suddenly develops a conscience while being chased by a very competent cop. No news on who will star in the movie yet.
