Brad Pitt in talks to replace Heath Ledger in Malick’s Tree of Life

Brad Pitt is negotiating to replace Heath Ledger and appear alongside Sean Penn in Terrence Malick’s upcoming film, Tree of Life.

Produced by River Road Entertainment, Tree of Life is a project that has been around since the 1970s in some form or another. Latest info suggests that it is scheduled to exit production limbo and begin filming in March.

Heath Ledger and Sean Penn as the leading actors were only announced a couple of months ago, along with the news of a spring filming date. They were the second pair of high profile leading actors connected with the movie. A couple of years ago, the movie was set to start filming with Colin Farrell (who also starred in Malick’s last release, The New World) and Mel Gibson, who was also to get producer credits.
