Batman star Christian Bale is reportedly in talks to join Johnny Depp in Collateral and Miami Vice director Michael Mann’s upcoming flick Public Enemies. If the talks go well, Bale is expected to play the role of the FBI agent Melvin Purvis, the man famous for pursuing John Dillinger. Depp will naturally star in the movie as the legendary outlaw. Filming is scheduled to begin in March.
Both stars have had an excellent run in the last few years. After last summer’s Pirates threequel, Johnny Depp can be seen and heard singing in Tim Burton’s much hyped Sweeney Todd, co-starring Helena Bonham Carter, while Bale has recently had two major releases: western remake 3:10 to Yuma, opposite Russell Crowe, and Todd Haynes’ Bob Dylan biopic I’m Not There.
