There may still be hope for the popular science fiction series The 4400, which was cancelled in December after a four season run. Following in the foosteps of Jericho and Roswell fans, The 4400 fanbase has decided to organize a mail-in campaign and begin shipping sunflower seeds to USA Network on a daily basis for a week. The campaign kicks off on February 1 and all the mailings will be addressed to Bonnie Hammer, SciFi and USA Network president, whose role in SciFi’s programming unit diminished significantly just yesterday, when Dave Howe was promoted to president.
The sunflower seeds (a favourite of Dr. Burkhoff’s, played by Jeffrey Combs on the show) will be sent along with fan letters and copies of the petition that has been online for quite a while now. So far, more than 8,000 people signed it, making it clear that they did not want the season 4 finale, The Great Leap Forward, to be the last episode of The 4400 ever. The Great Leap Forward aired in September, which was about the same time that the cancellation rumours were all but confirmed by some of the cast members.
Anyone who would like to take part in the campaign can visit www.Savethe4400.net to find the plan of action.
In the meantime, don’t forget to sign The 4400 petition.
