The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has settled on nine films that will keep competing for the Oscar in the Best Foreign Language Film category. The films in question are:

Producers’ Guild announces PGA Award nominees
The Producers’ Guild of America announced the nominees for Producer of the Year in four categories – theatrical, animated and documentary film and long-form television – on Monday. Christian Bale to join Depp in Public Enemies?

WGA announces Best Screenplay nominees
The Writers’ Guild of America has announced the nominees for this year’s WGA Awards. The awards ceremony will not take place until the writers’ strike is over, the Guild said. The show was originally scheduled to take place on February 9 in Los Angeles.
