Terrence Malick’s first project since the 2005 Colin Farrell starrer The New World, the mysterious Tree of Life, is finally beginning to take shape. Scheduled to start filming in Smithville, Texas in late March, the movie will star Sean Penn and Brad Pitt, who has taken over one of the leading roles from Heath Ledger a few months ago. Pitt has already been spotted in town in recent days.

There isn’t really that much info about this film out there, but if Penn and Pitt in leading roles can’t get those set stalkers to get their cameras out and blog away, I don’t know who can.

Last week, the film crew issued a casting call and they seem to be looking for pregnant women and very young children. So, the cast so far includes two Hollywood A list actors, a drowsy Minotaur, some kids and some mothers to be.

And the first sight of the Tree itself being planted on the set was provided by a guy called oomegooly on YouTube, where he uploaded three clips from the set.
