Secret Sunshine wins at Asian Film Awards

South Korean film Secret Sunshine, a drama that follows a single mother on her quest for love in an unfamiliar town, won the main awards at the Asian Film Awards event yesterday and was named best Asian film. The movie also won the awards for best director and best actress.

Chinese art movie The Sun Also Rises also won a couple of awards: best production design and best supporting actress.

Veteran actor Tony Leung, best known for his appearances in Wong Kar Wai’s masterpieces In the Mood for Love and 2046, picked up the award for best actor for his performance in Ang Lee’s controversial drama Lust, Caution.
