Star Wars: The Clone Wars to premiere on Cartoon Network, October 3

Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Lucasfilm’s first animated series to get a weekly slot on television, will premiere on Cartoon Network on Friday, October 3 at 9 P.M. (ET/PT).

The Clone Wars will follow well known Star Wars protagonists Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda and others on their adventures as they fight against the forces of dark side during the Clone Wars.

Chronologically, The Clone Wars is set between the last two Star Wars prequels – Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith – at a time when the Jedi use an army of genetically engineered clones to defeat the overwhelming forces of the Siths’ army of droids.

The Clone Wars is executive produced by George Lucas, and Dave Filoni serves as supervising director.

The series premieres with two episodes, Ambush and Rising Malevolence, on October 3.
