Best in film in 2009: BAFTA Awards nominees

After releasing the BAFTA nominees long list two weeks ago, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has released the short list for this year’s Orange British Film Academy Awards.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on February 21.

Slumdog Millionaire, Man on Wire win BAFTAs for Best Film

The British Academy announced the winners of this year’s BAFTA Awards at a ceremony at the Royal Opera House in London. Slumdog Millionaire was the big winner of the evening with honours in seven categories, including Best Film.

British Academy releases final BAFTA nominations

The British Academy released the final list of nominees for this year’s British Academy Film Awards on Thursday morning. Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire and David Fincher’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button lead the BAFTAs race with 11 nominations each.

Frost/Nixon, Benjamin Button lead BAFTA nominations

The nominations for the 2008 British Academy Film Awards were announced earlier today. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Frost/Nixon lead the pack with 14 nominations each, followed by Slumdog Millionaire, The Reader, Revolutionary Road, Changeling and The Dark Knight with 13 noms.
