Slumdog Millionaire, Man on Wire win BAFTAs for Best Film
The British Academy announced the winners of this year’s BAFTA Awards at a ceremony at the Royal Opera House in London. Slumdog Millionaire was the big winner of the evening with honours in seven categories, including Best Film.

London Film Critics name The Wrestler, Slumdog films of the year
The London Film Critics’ Circle presented the awards for the best achievements in film in 2008 on Wednesday. Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler, starring Mickey Rourke and Marisa Tomei, was named the best film of the year, while Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire took home the award for Best British Film.

Boston Film Critics vote Wall-E, Slumdog Millionaire Best Movies of the Year
The Boston Society of Film Critics awarded top honours to Wall-E and Slumdog Millionaire in a vote for the Best Movies of the Year. This is the second big win for Wall-E coming from a critics’ association. The film already won the Best Picture Award from the Los Angeles Critics Association earlier this month.
