European Film Academy announces selections for 2008 European Film Awards

The European Film Academy (EFA) has released the list of the potential nominees for this year's European Film Awards. The list includes 44 films from 27 countries, with France,  the U.K., and Germany leading the pack with multiple nominations. The official list of nominated films will be announced on November 8 at the Sevilla European Film Festival, after EFA's 1,800 members have had a chance to vote for the nominees in a number of categories. The Tudors series leads the pack at 2008 Gemini Awards

Peace Arch's Emmy winning and Golden Globe nominated television series The Tudors, broadcast on the CBC Television Network, received 12 Gemini Award nominations from the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television last week. The European Film Academy has released the list of the nominees for this year's People's Choice Awards. The movies cover a pretty wide range of genres, from fantasy (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) and horror ([Rec], The Orphanage) to epic (Arn: The Knight Templar) and period drama (Atonement).
