Best in television in 2009: Directors Guild nominations

After releasing the list of DGA Award nominees in film, the Directors Guild of America has announced the nominations for the best achievements in television in 2009. The winners will be revealed on January 30.

Mad Men’s Matthew Weiner closes deal with Lionsgate

After several months of negotiations, Matthew Weiner and Lionsgate TV inked a two-year, seven-figure deal that includes Weiner staying on board as showrunner and executive producer of Mad Men and also developing new projects for the network, including a feature film.
